Rain delayed the start of the fourth ODI between Sri Lanka and New Zealand after the home side skipper, Mahela Jayawardene, won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The Lankans made one change to their lineup, resting Tillakaratne Dilshan after the opener sustained a back injury in the previous game. His place was taken by Dinesh Chandimal.
The Kiwi side also tinkered with their lineup, handing a debut to Adam Milne, who replaced Kyle Mills. All-rounder Andrew Ellis also returned to the side in place of Jacob Oram. The weather has been a real nuisance in the series so far, with both completed matches decided on Duck-worth Lewis method.

The home side are currently preparing for their first Test of the current year, where they will take on West Indies in the two-match Test series. They last played a five-day game in December 2011. Since achieving Test status, the Bengali Tigers have managed just three wins in 73 outings.
"Our situation isn't good, we play Tests after long gaps," Tamim told ESPNcricinfo. "We should have this mentality of adapting ourselves from one format to the other. If we had played regular Test cricket, this question about adjusting wouldn't have come up." ?
